Minimum requirements
OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
CPU: Any modern 4+ core CPU
RAM: 8GB minimum (16GB recommended if using a local LLM)
Storage: Game + saves. If your build uses a local model, keep 40–50GB+ free for model files.
Crashes / won’t start
- Steam → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity.
- Run once as administrator (only if you hit permission-related errors).
- Reboot after driver updates (GPU / chipset / runtime dependencies).
- If you use a local model, confirm Ollama is installed and responding.
Where are logs?
Builds may differ. If the launcher has an “Open Logs” button, use that first.
If not, start here:
- Steam install folder → look for a Logs directory.
- %APPDATA% (Roaming) → search for “IWAK” or “I Was a King”.
